Welcome to the 15th Annual Caribbean American Heritage Awards.... the premiere recognition honors of the Caribbean American community.
The CARAH Awards celebrates the Who's Who of Caribbean American heritage and Friends of the Caribbean. Among the honorees, count the legendary Cicely Tyson who has roots in the twin island nation of St. Kitts & Nevis; and Earl Graves, publisher of Black Enterprise who has roots in Barbados; and Reggae Legend, Jimmy Cliff.
The CARAH Awards which is under the patronage of the Caribbean Diplomatic Corps is the can't miss event of the Caribbean American community. If there was such a thing as a Caribbean American Hall of Fame, the CARAH Honorees would all be members. Honorary Gala Chairs are Congresswoman Donna Christensen and Congresswoman Yvette Clarke.
2008 CARAH Award Nominees are: Hon. Neil Albert, Deputy Mayor, Washington DC; Hon. Garth Graham, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Health; Karl & Faye Rodney, Publishers, CaribNews; Dr. Cato Laurencin, Vice President for Health Affairs, University of Connecticut; Egbert Perry, Real Estate Developer and Urban Revitalization Pioneer; Ato Boldon, Olympic Medalist; Andrew Ballen, Maverick HipHop TV Host and Entrepreneur; and Marcia Griffiths, Reggae Legend.

15th Annual CARAH Awards Soldout Success John Blake of WHUR Fm 96.3, Maureen Bunyan of Channel 7WJLA and Neki Mohan of ABC10 Miami headlined the sold out prestigious Caribbean American Heritage Awards. With pulsating beats from the Image Band over 400 revelers braved the rain and clogged DC Streets to take in the sights and sounds of Caribbean American Excellence.
Washington DC Deputy Mayor Hon. Neil Albert who stopped in to pick up his Award for Public Service was feted along with the Hon. Helen Marshall a veteran political operative and current Borough President of Queens; and medical genius Dr. Cato Laurencin.

Ambassador Dr. Richard Bernal of the InterAmerican Development Bank and Andy Ingraham, National Association of Black Hotel Owners and Developers are just two of the leading figures who will be sitting in at the Leadership Dialogue on Investing in the Caribbean. The One=Day Forum has come to be known as the place to be to network with multilateral and pribaye financial institutions for those wanting to follow the money to investment opportunities in the Caribbean.
