Ian started as a volunteer with ICS in 2005 and after one year became an intern with the organization. His primary role was ICS webmaster.  He also played an instrumental role in production and backstage activities at the gala, crafting with his brother Anthony - an animated welcome by African/Caribbean folklore character Anansi.  Ian was the recipient of an ICS Caribbean American Heritage Month Youth Leadership Scholarship (US$500)  in 2008.

    ABOUT THE CARAH AWARDS

The CARAH Awards  celebrates the Who's Who of Caribbean American heritage and Friends of the Caribbean.

Honorees include the legendary Cicely Tyson who has roots in the twin island nation of St. Kitts & Nevis; US Attorney General Eric Holder and Earl Graves, publisher of Black Enterprise who have their roots in Barbados; and Ambassador Andrew Young.

The CARAH Awards which is under the patronage of the Caribbean Diplomatic Corps is the can't miss event of the Caribbean American community. If there was such a thing as a Caribbean American Hall of Fame, the CARAH Honorees would all be members.

Watch WILLARD WIGAN online at the Wall Street Journal.
