PARTNERING FOR PROGRESS....

Dear Friend,

We invite you to become a partner in support of ICS,  by sponsoring the 16th Annual Caribbean American Heritage Awards (CARAH) Gala and Invest Caribbean 2009 - Caribbean American Leadership Dialogue, to be held on Friday, November 13th, 2009 at The Renaissance Marriott Hotel on Ninth Street NW in Washington, DC.

The CARAH Gala is ICS' major fundraising effort for the year. The proceeds support the various projects and programs that we organize and promote throughout the year including the Celebration of June as National Caribbean American Heritage Month, the Legislative Forum on Capitol Hill, the Embassy Evening Series, and LifeSEED, the Youth-at-Risk Entrepreneurial Skills Program.

Since its inception, the Caribbean American Heritage Awards Gala has attracted the Caribbean-American Who's Who, with attendance of approximately five hundred. Our past keynote speakers and honorees include Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony of St. Lucia; Prime Minister Owen Arthur of Barbados; Ambassador Andrew Young; Earl Graves, publisher of Black Enterprise; Hon. Kweisi Mfume, former President, NAACP; US Attorney General Eric Holder (of Barbadian heritage); actress CCH Pounder (Guyanese heritage); Congressman Charles Rangel; and WJLA ABC TV Channel 7 news anchor Maureen Bunyan.

ABOUT THE CARAH AWARDS

The CARAH Awards  celebrates the Who's Who of Caribbean American heritage and Friends of the Caribbean.

Honorees include the legendary Cicely Tyson who has roots in the twin island nation of St. Kitts & Nevis; US Attorney General Eric Holder and Earl Graves, publisher of Black Enterprise who have their roots in Barbados; and Ambassador Andrew Young.

The CARAH Awards which is under the patronage of the Caribbean Diplomatic Corps is the can't miss event of the Caribbean American community. If there was such a thing as a Caribbean American Hall of Fame, the CARAH Honorees would all be members.
